Hudson’s is a vibrant restaurant and bar in the heart of Putney and we are seeking a highly skilled and passionate General Manager to join our dynamic team. As a General Manager, you will play a crucial role in running the day-to-day operations of the site while also managing an efficient service team. You will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure exceptional customer service, staff coordination, and overall success of the restaurant.

Responsibilities:

1. Operations:

– Overseein all aspects of daily restaurant operations.

– Supervise and train staff members to maintain excellent service standards and enhance customer satisfaction.

– Manage inventory, supplies, and ensure proper food and beverage handling and storage.

– Coordinate and maintain proper sanitation and safety procedures to meet health regulations.

– Handle customer enquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

2. Beverage Expertise:

– Possess detailed knowledge of wines, beers and spirits

– Prepare and serve a variety of alcohol based and coffee based beverages with precision and consistency.

– Possess knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment operation.

– Maintain a high standard of quality control to ensure every beverage meets our standards.

3. Marketing and Social Media Management:

– Work with the marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote Hudsons and increase customer engagement.

– Monitor social media channels, respond to customer reviews and comments, and address any issues or inquiries promptly.

– Analyse marketing data and customer feedback to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.

4. Staff Supervision and Training:

– Hire, train and evaluate restaurant staff members, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

– Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, morale, and high performance.

– Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, provide feedback, and address any concerns.

5. Financial Management:

– Assist in monitoring and analysing financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability.

– Implement cost control measures to optimise operational efficiency without compromising quality.

– Assist in creating budgets and forecasts, and monitor progress towards achieving financial goals.

– Collaborate with the Head Chef to identify and action opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction.

Requirements:

– Previous experience in the restaurant industry, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.

– Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers, staff, and vendors.

– Familiarity with restaurant operations, including inventory management and health and safety regulations.

– Proficiency in using restaurant management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.

– Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays.

– A passion for food and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience.
