A leading industrial technology firm is seeking a motivated and skilled Technical Account Manager based in Chicago.
Location: Chicago, IL. This is a Hybrid role with 3-5 days per week in the Chicago office and 25% travel.
Starting salary $70K-75K plus sales incentives and benefits
Overview: This role involves sales and support for semiconductor inspection and metrology equipment used in various laboratories nationwide. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, adept at identifying new business opportunities, and capable of conducting strategic negotiations. The Technical Account Manager will assist process engineers by presenting advanced measurement and analytical methodologies, exhibiting strong technical presentation skills. This position reports directly to the company President and offers significant growth potential within a diverse, multicultural environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
Meet annual revenue, profit, and growth targets.
Identify new market opportunities and strategize with the supervisor.
Achieve monthly KPIs related to new contacts, customer meetings, quotations, and opportunities as recorded in the CRM.
Travel regularly to customer sites to develop strong relationships and account understanding.
Sales Activities:
Prospect for new customers using various methods.
Maintain accurate account records in the CRM.
Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations, following up with key decision-makers.
Conduct quarterly new customer meetings and submit detailed reports.
Manage the entire sales process from inquiry to final acceptance and payment, including quotes, samples, negotiations, order confirmations, delivery, and payment terms.
Regularly meet with the direct supervisor to review sales activities, prospective customers, and progress towards sales goals.
Develop and implement a quarterly strategic plan with the supervisor to achieve sales goals and travel expectations.
Support tradeshow planning, execution, and follow-up with the Account Management team.
Professional Development:
Network within industry organizations.
Stay current on trends, competitors, and developments in the semiconductor industry.
Maintain regular contact with product managers to ensure accurate and timely customer support.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in technical sales or inside sales.
Ability to travel by various means domestically and internationally.
Experience in material science, technical sales, and customer relationship management is a PLUS!
