The Role:

MBNLs Site Running Commercial Finance team are currently recruiting for an Assistant Commercial Finance Analyst who has a desire to become a fully qualified accountant. The focus of the role will be on BTs Emergency Services Network, to drive month end reporting, forecasting and budget setting alongside several other monthly tasks, to ensure integrity is maintained within government funded workstreams. It will also be supporting the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst on various work streams within the Site Running team.

What you can expect to be doing:

Work towards completing your accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA or similar).
Unique role financially supporting various areas of the business including Site Running, Legal & Commercial, Transmission, Health & Safety, IT, Operations, working closely on the Emergency Services Network.
Lead on Finance Month end tasks. Which includes preparing and posting journals, producing variance analysis reports to support the justification of accruals, and completing post month end reconciliations.
Deliver to our Accounting policies to ensure balance sheet accrual and prepayment reconciliations, cash forecasting is completed in a timely manner.
Work closely with shareholders and our outsourced suppliers to ensure that cash is managed appropriately, and that funding approvals are made in line with our internal governance.
Provide budgeting and forecasting in line with shareholders timeframes. To Investigate forecasting variances with the Operational and Programme teams and continuously improving the assumptions in the forecast.
Ensuring close collaboration with the wider business, and our shareholders to support initiatives and deployment projects.
Responsible for the delivery of monthly management accounts to shareholders through close collaboration with outsourcing partners (Utilities and Estate management) and internal stakeholders under strict timelines
Responsible for financial review and approval of purchase orders. Ensure costs are correctly allocated and challenging the business from a cost perspective.
Support the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst on several ad hoc tasks, including analysis around Site running and MBNL's Utilities budget.

What we are looking for:

Part qualified accountant - ACCA, CIMA or similar.
At least two years' worth of industry experience
Strong excel and I.T. ability.
Strong academic background.
Initiative and pro-active "can-do" attitude.
Resourcefulness, getting or finding information and filling in the gaps.
Strong team player.
Attention to detail.
