Central is currently recruiting for a Support Officer, to work in the Hackney area. The service provides supported housing to 12 young people to provide a secure environment and support users with emotional needs, boundaries and independent living.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday, on a rota basis covering early (7:30AM - 3:30PM) and late (12:30PM - 8:30PM) shifts. There is a requirement to work every other weekend. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2-3 months. The pay rate for this role is £14.02 per hour, with £1.76 holiday pay, totalling £15.78 per hour.

In this position, you will be expected to;

* Hold a caseload of up to 4-5 young people and undertake regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART Support Plans

* Carry out assessment to identify and prioritise needs

* Develop and maintain positive links with key stakeholders

* Support service users to develop the necessary skills to live independently, and to access training, education and work.

* Liaise closely with the Housing Management Team to identify problems with Housing Benefit payments, review rent collection and address other tenancy-related matters

* Ensure service users are fully informed of their rights and responsibilities

To apply for this role candidates must have;

* Experience of working with young people with complex needs

* Knowledge of the Housing Sector

* Experience of holding a caseload, conducting support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments

* Knowledge and understanding of up to date legislation and government frameworks relevant to young people

* Understanding of safeguarding children and adults

* Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
