Job Description: Children's Registered Manager for Learning Disabilities and Autism

Location: Birmingham, UK
Salary: £55,000 per annum

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Children's Registered Manager to oversee our specialist residential service for children with learning disabilities and autism in Grantham. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality care and support for the children, promoting their well-being, and leading a team of skilled professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Provide strong leadership to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to children with learning disabilities and autism.
Manage and supervise a team of care staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, including Ofsted standards.

Care Planning and Delivery:

Develop and implement personalized care plans for each child, focusing on their individual needs and goals.
Monitor and review care plans regularly to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
Promote and ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of all children in the service.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure the service meets the highest standards of care.
Implement improvements based on feedback and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
Act as the main point of contact for families, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educational institutions, and other relevant agencies.

Training and Development:

Identify training needs and ensure staff receive appropriate training and development opportunities.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Budget and Resource Management:

Manage the service budget effectively, ensuring resources are used efficiently and responsibly.
Oversee the maintenance and safety of the physical environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

Registered Manager qualification (Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent).
Extensive experience working with children with learning disabilities and autism.
Proven track record of managing a care service and leading a team.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

Experience working within a residential care setting.
Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and interventions for children with learning disabilities and autism.
