Role Description
This is a contract Senior Scrum Master role based in Elmhurst, IL, with flexibility for some remote work. The Senior Scrum Master will be responsible for leading and facilitating sprint planning, ensuring effective communication between team members, and overseeing the software development process. This is a hybrid role, with the primary location being Elmhurst, IL, but the option for some work from home approximately three days per week.
Qualifications
A minimum of 7+ years experience as an agile/Scrum practitioner
Serve as a Scrum Master on Agile teams inclusive of facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Train, coach and mentor team members and line managers on Agile methodologies to empower the delivery of high-quality products and services.
Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders to prioritize and refine the product backlog.
Monitor team performance and progress while identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance team effectiveness.
Demonstrated commitment to agile principles and values.
Continuous learning mindset, seeking to expand lean/agile knowledge.
Experience in leading distributed and remote teams.
Strong skills in facilitation, conflict resolution, and fostering a transparent culture.
Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience with creating and managing user stories
Knowledge and understanding of software development methodologies and processes.
Additional skills and qualifications that would be beneficial for this role include:
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM)
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Experience with project management tools and software
Strong leadership and facilitation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in a related field
