Role: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Gatwick
Salary: £50k - £75k (Depending on experience)
The Client:
Deliver end to end innovative and sustainable data centre solutions and critical Infrastructure services.
The Role:
You will be working on a variety of projects, helping our client harness the full potential of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
* Designing, deploying, supporting, and managing complex cloud infrastructures.
* Ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of AWS environments.
* Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and design robust and scalable AWS solutions.
* Build and configure AWS services, leveraging infrastructure as code (IAC) and automation tools for provisioning and management (Python).
* Monitor and manage AWS resources (CloudWatch) optimizing for performance, cost and security.
* Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring data protection and compliance with industry standards.
* Identify and resolve technical issues, providing root cause analysis and preventative solutions.
* Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline operational tasks.
* When required work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers and other stake holders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Be able to offer and mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, sharing your expertise in AWS.
* Maintain documentation of AWS environment, configuration and processes.
Skills:
* 4 years + experience working as an AWS Engineer or Similar role.
* Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront, IAM, Lambda, VPC and more.
* Proficiency in infrastructure as code (eg CloudFormation, Terraform) and automation tools (eg AWS CLI, AWS SDKs)
* Solid understanding of networking, security and best practices in cloud architecture.
* Experience with containerization technologies (eg Docker, Kubernetes).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with modernization and design changes for upcoming work will be advantageous.
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant AWS Certifications.
* SC Clearance is desirable. Otherwise, candidates must be willing to undergo clearance
