TM Scotland East Kilbride & Glasgow branch are excited to be recruiting for our brand new client based in the heart of East Kilbride who are a leading provider of high-quality red meat products.

Our client is looking for a Buying Manager for their site in East Kilbride who has worked in a similar environment before to add to their team on a permanent basis, following successful interview with TM and the client directly.

The successful applicant will ensure timely procurement of top-quality equipment, goods, and services to meet operational needs efficiently.

What will your duties and responsibilities be as a technical manager?

* Monitor stock and forecast product demand accurately.

* Identify and engage with top-quality suppliers to optimize value, delivery, and quality.

* Cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships.

* Negotiate contracts, ensuring continuous improvement in product quality and service.

* Oversee payment processing and invoice accuracy.

* Analyse market trends and identify growth opportunities.

* Develop and implement procurement strategies.

* Provide regular reports to support market understanding.

* Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.

* Ensure supplier alignment with our client’s business objectives.

* Ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements, including Food Safety and Health & Safety.

* Maximize team performance, efficiency, and engagement.

* Foster skill development and trainee support for future workforce readiness.

What skills and experience do we require to be successful for the position?

* Preferred PG CIPS membership.

* Excellent interpersonal, networking, and influencing skills.

* Results-oriented with strong commercial acumen.

* Adaptable negotiation and communication abilities.

* Detail-oriented with strategic thinking capabilities.

* Strong team management and performance focus.

* Accreditation in Food Hygiene (minimum Level 3).

* Proficiency in IT and report writing.

* Proficient in spoken and written English.

* Strong numeracy skills.
