The company delivers technology-centric services and solutions within sectors like Automation & Materials Handling, Telecoms, Fire Management, Electrical Wiring & Control Rooms, and Digital Display. They cater to a wide array of esteemed blue-chip clients across various industries, including Rail, Defence, Retail, Leisure, Manufacturing, Power Generation, and Airports.

I am seeking a mid-weight Software Engineer with a strong focus on high integrity coding and systems development that's ready to step into a more senior role. The successful candidate will have expertise in developing highly customised and controlled Operating System builds, particularly in restricted and safe subsets of C such as MISRA C. They will contribute to the creation of robust software solutions, leveraging their technical prowess and scientific analysis skills to process real-time data effectively.

Key responsibilities as Software Engineer include:

Designing, coding, implementing, and testing In-Product software for LB Foster Safety and Surveillance products, collaborating closely with team members.

Becoming the in-house expert on the Company's safety software platform, including:

Developing high integrity code in C subsets like MISRA C.
Crafting controlled Operating System builds with QNX and Linux.
Cultivating expertise for high integrity software activities.
Providing guidance on optimal practices for high integrity software solutions.Contributing scientific skills for solutions reliant on real-time data analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications as Software Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent.
Industry experience programming with C (MISRA), C++
Deep understanding of software quality assurance.
Experience with real-time scientific analysis software.
Expertise in recognised Product Development Processes.
Proficiency in project planning and tracking tools.
Experience with waterfall and agile design methodologies.Desirable skills:

CPD qualification (e.g., CEng, EurIng).
Higher level qualification in Mathematics or Physics.
Safety-related software experience (e.g., TÜV Süd certification).
Experience with IoT, machine-learning technologies, Microsoft Azure.
