A growing multi academy trust in Cumbria have partnered with Kenton Black Finance as they seek to appoint a new Senior Finance Manager as a key member of the central finance team. This new post will develop and lead on the financial management and reporting arrangements, providing relevant accounting advice to support ongoing growth.

The role can be appointed up to 37 hours per week. Flexible working options are available including hybrid working and a reduced working week will be considered (e.g. school hours, term time or 4 days per week).

Your New Role as Senior Finance Manager:

Receiving support and guidance from the Head of Finance, as Senior Finance Manager your duties will include:

• Line management of 1 member of staff
• Preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Preparation of management accounts
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Ensure necessary returns, reports and submissions are completed accurately and on time – VAT, PAYE, NI, pensions etc.
• Working closely with budget holders to provide meaningful financial information and advice
• Assist with ongoing development of existing systems and processes
• Support growth initiatives

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

To be considered you will be proven in a similar level role with strong accounting and budget setting/monitoring capabilities. Strong communication skills are pivotal as this role involves regular liaison with various non-finance stakeholders. Experience within the Education sector is desirable but not essential and you will be able to quickly adapt and pick up new systems and processes. Strong IT skills are required including good knowledge of Microsoft Excel as well as mainstream or bespoke finance systems.
