Think Accountancy & Finance are collaborating with an exceptional client presenting an enticing opportunity for an up and coming Accountant who has 1-3 years practice experience under their belt.

This is a role with a difference as the client is looking for someone who can use their 1-3 years practice experience to liaise with sole traders and Ltd companies as well as support a number of juniors and overseeing their work. This is a support role rather than management and is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills.

This role involves managing a client portfolio and utilising strong customer service skills to be the first point of contact for a number of clients. This position is supported from a team leader and Assistant Accountant.

Ideal candidates should have 1-2 years of practice experience and be able to demonstrate:

Strong technical proficiency and understanding of accountancy principles
Dedication to career growth and progression
Meticulous attention to detail and effective workload management
Proficient IT skills
Excellent communication abilities and collaborative aptitude

Key responsibilities comprise:

Oversight of a client portfolio numbering between (Apply online only)
Timely and professional communication with clients via calls and emails
Prioritization of exceptional customer service
Assisting and training clients on utilising bookkeeping portal
Offering tax planning and ad hoc guidance as needed
Reviewing and approving accounts before client distribution
Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for client approval

This role will evolve overtime but initially will oversee juniors to ensure they are completing their tasks as needed. As mentioned this is not a management job and more leading by example.

The company are based in Watford with good access to public transport.

coordination tasks. There is flexibility to accommodate a candidate on a term-time only basis or a full-time basis working across the year with a 33 days (+ bank holidays) holiday allowance! Hours of work 8.30am to 4.30pm with hybrid working available, plus the potential to support CIPD study.

It is essential that candidates are highly presentable, flexible in approach, have fantastic communication skills and can work in an extremely busy environment. Some previous experience in a HR administration/HR Coordinator/HR Assistant role is essential.

Role overview:

Provide confidential support to HR processes
Updating HR system with new starters and changes to employment
Manage HR inbox
Record and maintain staff absence records
Maintaining DBS records
Dealing with references, right to work documents and DBS checks for new staff members
Writing and placing job adverts
Handling advert response and uploading details onto Applicant Tracking System
Screening applicants, scheduling interviews and feedback/outcomes
Handle any calls to HR department
Booking training including meeting rooms, refreshments and invitations
Supporting with absence and performance management correspondence

Candidate requirements:

Previous HR experience - HR administrator, HR coordinator or HR assistant level
Excellent administration skills
Good IT skills
Highly presentable
Flexible to work different hours as required (for staff assessments etc)
