Our client have a fantastic opportunity for a Jr Sous Chef to join their small but highly talented team, for their stunning retail park restaurant in Ascot.
The Client
This is a fantastic time to join the company with the recent addition of a new street food concept giving candidates the chance to work in both the main kitchen or as part of launching their new venture. As part of an ambitious kitchen team you will assist the Head Chef in serving food of the highest rosette level standard. The kitchen open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch, and 3 days a week for dinner.
You will be producing beautifully modern, classically inspired dishes based entirely around local, seasonal, produce. The best the area has to offer.
Responsibilities
As Jr Sous Chef you will be required to:
Prepare menus in collaboration with colleagues
Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations
Follow the guidance of the executive or sous chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
Put effort in optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
Enforce strict health and hygiene standards
Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation
Assisting to supervise the more junior members of the team.
Requirements
An ideal candidate for this Jr Sous Chef Position would be
Able to work unsupervised to a committed level showing 100% enthusiasm and passion for their role in the team.
Self-motivated and proactive
Enthusiastic, and willing to learn
Innovative, passionate and forward thinking
Able to work efficiently under pressure
Have great time management skills
Ideally you will have:
Previous Proven experience in a similar level role
Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes
Knowledge of best cooking practices
Hours
48 hr contract a week, working 2 late shifts and 3 early shifts.
Salary and Benefits
Salary to £33- £34k+ per year (additional tips on top)
