Are you a Principal Designer passionate about Building Safety and Regulations?

TSA Surveying are actively recruiting for a talented individual to embark on an exciting new role, created by our client called an Assistant Principal Designer. Our client is a professional construction consultancy who are aiming to develop a dedicated resource to deliver Principal Design services.

Our client’s sectors are both public and private and their focus is on Residential and Regeneration projects as well as Mixed use developments.

The role would encompass the experience of an individual who understands the implement of Health & Safety procedures within the construction industry. The skillset desired would be an individual who has previously been involved with CDM services or design elements of a project.

In alignment with the Building Safety Act, the selected individual will provide all Principal Designer services directly for clients, focusing on residential properties and higher-risk buildings. This includes ensuring that the design team possesses the necessary competence to fulfil their responsibilities. Additionally, the role involves reviewing existing designs, plans, specifications, and documentation to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.

Currently, our clients primarily include Housing Associations and Local Authorities. However, their strategy is boundless, aiming to expand across all sectors while maintaining high efficiency. Are you ready to be part of this exciting evolution in construction?

The ideal candidate will possess:

* A general knowledge of CDM Regulations.

* Understanding of applying Health & Safety within the construction industry.

* Working towards a professional qualification in designing, building, surveying or building services discipline.

* Experienced in communicating effectively with contractors, designers and clients by means of Design Team Meeting and Risk Workshops.

* Effective in planning, coordinating and managing the pre-construction phase of projects.

A professional qualification in designing, building surveying or building services discipline is desired.

A NEBOSH National Certificate Health and Safety is also preferred.
