PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

* Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic HR guidance on complex business issues and initiatives.

* Partner with business leaders to identify talent management priorities, develop workforce plans, and address employee relations matters.

* Act as a champion for HR best practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the HR function.

MAIN ASSIGNMENTS:

Employee Relations:

* Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee engagement. Protects the interests of employees and the Business in accordance with Human Resources policies and UK laws and regulations.

* Establishes a fair approach to employee-employer relationships, which builds strong empowerment and work ethic within the business at the same time as culture of trust and commitment to the business.

* Builds positive employee relations and experience including leading on our well-being and Diversity initiatives, and launching employee community groups across the business.

Organisational Design:

* Collaborate with senior leadership to assess and design organisational structures that support business goals and enhance operational efficiency.

* Lead restructuring efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.

* Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during periods of organisational change. Conduct comprehensive analyses of critical roles within the organization, identifying key competencies, skills, and performance indicators.

* Collaborate with department heads to develop role profiles, competency frameworks, and succession plans for critical positions.

* Implement strategies to address talent gaps and ensure the organisation's ability to meet current and future business needs.

Redundancy Procedures:

* Engage with affected employees and relevant stakeholders throughout the restructuring process including proactive communications and FAQ’s

* Oversee redundancy processes, including consultation with affected employees, selection criteria development, and redeployment opportunities.

* Ensure compliance with UK employment laws, regulations, and internal policies throughout the redundancy process.

* Provide support and guidance to managers and employees impacted by redundancy, fostering a respectful and compassionate transition experience.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:

CIPD Level 5 (Level 7 preferred)

Essential Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge and understanding of UK Payroll Practices.

A strong functional leader with contemporary, best-in-class knowledge of all the core HR disciplines including Compensation and Benefits, Employee/ Industrial Relations, and Business partnering. Accordingly, established and implemented the necessary processes, policies and frameworks.

Proven knowledge of UK Employment Law and able to apply it to strategic decision making.

Experience of managing complex employee relations work

Commercial acumen – can partner with the business to deliver commercially focussed people strategies.

Demonstrable track record of establishing high performing HR functions and teams ensuring operational excellence and to support business needs.

Private Equity-backed businesses would be preferable, it is not a pre-requisite

Experience of the Energy industry, corporate development activities, including mergers, joint ventures, and alliances all would be a plus.

Ability to read an understand HR Metrics and give them meaning and apply them to strategy

Previous proven budgetary experience

Experience in streamlining HR processes with best practice ensuring a good end user experience.

Able to empower and develop team members

Understanding and experience of field based activity as well as office.

Experience of supporting organisations through growth, integration and cultural transformation. A transformational outlook; someone who is not only comfortable with change, but naturally takes a lead in driving it.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills balanced with a high level of confidence to persuade and influence.

Comfortable acting as a coach, confidante and sounding board to Senior managers.

Grounded, collaborative, and comfortable engaging at every level of an organisation.

Rational, pragmatic and data driven.
