My client is an established pipeline and civil engineering contractor with various works across the South of England, including Civils and Pipeline works for a range of companies and projects. Operating as both sub-contractor and principal contactor. They have shown continued growth within water industry and in environmental sustainability work.

Due to continued expansion client is now seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to assist the team in the successful delivery of a variety works packages.

As project quantity surveyor you will maintain a pivotal role, providing direct support to the Commercial Manager and various project management staff. You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks to continually improve and enhance the company’s performance.

Responsibilities will include:

* Establish and maintain an effective record of a variety of projects

* Accurate recording of project resources and allocation of appropriate cost and time

* Estimating and preparing cost valuations

* Maximise the commercial results of projects and performance against internal budgets and costings

* Material take off

* Maximise the cash position of the company

* To liaise and collaborate regarding all contractual aspects

* Procurement of subcontractors including key packages

* Financial & contractual management of sub-contractors

* Supporting the Commercial Manager in the preparation of valuations ensuring timely agreement and submission to the client

* Preparing timely monthly financial reports against individual projects.

* Collaborating with the Project Manager and other members of the project team

* Represent and serve the best interest of the company

* Create and maintain strong internal and external relationships

The individual should be looking to establish themselves within the business becoming an integral part of the team. The position will be based in Somerton with occasional visits to sites when required.

Key Skills required:

* Minimum of 3 Years’ experience in a similar role.

* Planning and time management skills

* Good understanding of civils and construction, ideally with pipeline experience

* Knowledge of NEC3 and 4

* Problem solver with construction knowledge

* IT skills - competent Microsoft packages included Excel and Project

* Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines

* Candidates must be able to commute to Somerton, Somerset.
