Assistant Manufacturing Team Leader

Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on an Assistant Manufacturing Team Leader in Cardiff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Team Leader in monitoring of Machine Operatives, all of their KPI's and data reporting, ensuring this is completed accurately and on time. They will also be supporting the manufacturing process, being available to cover stations when called upon as well as covering for the Team Leader when necessary.

Starting shift pattern: Monday to Friday shifts Week 1: 6am - 2pm, Week 2: 2pm to 10pm, Week 3: 10pm - 6am

Shift allowance is 10% for afternoon shifts, and 30% for nights.

This role will change to a "223" shift pattern by the end of 2024 due to an internal uplift and new shift starting - this will go as follows: 2 days in, 2 days off, 3 days in, 2 days off, 2 days in, 3 days off etc. These shifts will be 12 hour shifts on a 2 week rota: Week 1: 6am - 6pm, and Week 2: 6pm - 6am

Salary - Basic hourly rate £14.70, Afternoons £16.17, Nights £19.11

Assistant Team Leader Benefits:

Yearly basic salary without shift allowance £32,104.80, plus you will receive a yearly 10% bonus (min for this role in the first year £3210), which will increase along with your salary on a yearly basis

Ensure that all manufacturing quality is of the expected high standard, and the RDD's are met, and all quality paperwork is adhered to.
Continuously drive the team to maximise output
Working with the TL, instil cultural change to embrace ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
Minimise labour costs when possible whilst achieving manufacturing needs
Work in conjunction with the TL to organise correct utilisation of manning within the business as a whole
Ensure operator training is carried when needed and sign off completed on time.
Continuously look to reduce the scrap levels
Generate and implement initiatives that drive improvements
Ensure housekeeping is maintained and work areas are clean and free of debris
Working with the TL to ensure that the RAMS are explained and signed off by respective persons as required
Working with the TL to ensure all data reports and KPI's are completed to drive efficiencies.
Conduct consumable stocks checks and make sure they are maintained
Work closely with the TL to manage employees in relation to HR related activities i.e. holidays / absence / lateness
To develop with the TL to conduct investigations and disciplinaries as and when required
To be able to step into the TL position as cover when called upon.

Experience within a manufacturing or engineering based senior or Supervisory role
Experience of operating manufacturing machinery and equipment
IT Literate to update systems
Previous investigations leadership skills advantageous
Excellent communicator
Use of spreadsheets or ERP/ MRP system
Manufacturing knowledge and experience
A positive attitude towards continuous improvementPrivacy and General Data Protection Policy
