Our client is a successful manufacturer, they are looking for someone to join them as a plastic extrusion machine Tool Setter.
Salary: £26,461 gross per annum / £13.57 per hour (£12.38 per hour, plus £1.19 per hour shift allowance across all shifts).
Shift pattern: 3 x weekly rotating shifts (6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm / 10pm – 6am), 37.5 hour week.
Main Responsibilities:
• Die changes, strip and clean, change material, set downstream equipment to desired product requirements, tool setting with accuracy and consistency.
• Potential to assist and supervise the shift where required.
Ideal experience needed:
• You must have Polymer / Plastic extrusion experience.
• Be familiar in single and twin-screw machines (ideally in the production of both tube and profile from 5mm to 125mm).
• Experienced in die head, calibration and downstream setting, working with Vacuum/profile baths.
• Operating and carrying out adjustments to haul-off’s saws, guillotines and planetary cutters.
• Able to work with a wider range of polymers including flexible and rigid PVC, ABS HDPE and PP.
• Confident with working to tight tolerances with the ability to make line adjustments to optimise running speeds and customer specification.
• Must have a high regard to Safety and Quality.
• Supervisor experience is desirable, but not essential.
This role would suit someone with previous experience of working with plastic / polymer extruder machines, previous job titles could include; Moulding Machine Operative / Plastic Extrusion Production Operative / Machine Operator / Injection Moulding Tool Setter / Machine Setter / Machinist
