Title - Plater

Salary - £ 16.90ph

Location - Doncaster

Role - Temporary Initially

Working Hours - 6am-2.30pm Mon-Fri

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful plater to work with engineering organisation that manufactures with a range of sectors including oil & gas, construction and subsea, due to a period of growth they are looking to build on the existing teams skillset which opens up roles for platers to join the engineering team where duties will include:

Reading and interpreting technical drawings
Marking out the lines for cutting, drilling, or shaping the metal plate
Operating equipment (mostly computer controlled) to cut the metal.
Shaping and forming the metal, using large machines such as rollers and presses
Drilling or punching holes in the metal or cutting it.
Moving the plates into position for assembly, using chains, cranes, and hoists
Assembling the parts into a structure, usually by welding it, but sometimes using bolts and rivets
Finishing off the assembly, using tools like grinders and polishers to smooth the surface.It is expected that the successful platers will have a background working as a plater or a fabricator with structural steel experience and:

Be time served or apprentice trained.
Have plating experience.
Have experience of plating structural steel
Have experience of plating structural products of bridges, building or large manufacturing machines etc.
Understand engineering drawings.
Have own transport due to rural location
