Qualifications:
Current CST Certification from theNationalBoardofSurgicalTechnologyand/orSurgicalAssisting (NBSTSA)
1-2 years of experience
BLS Certification (Check expiration date) - AmericanHeartAssociation
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities - As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
Efficiently and effectively assistingphysicianswith operative procedures.
Anticipating surgeon/physicians needs both in preparing for procedures and during procedures.
Demonstrating knowledge of specific responsibilities in allemergencysituations.
Ensuring the sterility of all supplies and instruments during the setup ofsurgicalprocedures.
Handling instruments in a manner that prolongs the "life" of the instrument.
Assisting circulatingnursesand thesurgicalteam in maintaining asterileenvironment.
Transporting allsurgicalequipmentto appropriate cleaning areas and assisting insterilesupplywith cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets.
Interacting appropriately and effectively with all patients/others, regardless of ageorethnic background.
Using Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protectiveequipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safeenvironment.
Assisting withenvironmentalhazard and infection control surveillance and participating inemergencypreparedness drills.
Following allequipmentand safety guidelines and taking responsibility for the knowledgeable use andcareofequipment.
Maintaining designated certifications such asCPR, as offered by the center.
