Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers, a privately-owned emergency and specialty veterinary hospital that offers specialized veterinary services to clients and referring veterinarians in Brandon, Florida, is seeking a skilled Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
Assist with the triage, stabilization, and medical treatment of emergency patients under the direction of a veterinarian
Perform diagnostic tests, such as blood work and radiographs, and interpret results to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian
Maintain thorough and accurate medical records for each patient
Monitor patients during hospitalization and report changes in condition to the veterinary staff
Communicate patient treatment plans and instructions to pet owners
Provide emotional support and education to pet owners during difficult and stressful times
Requirements
Current certification as a Veterinary Technician preferred
Experience working in an emergency or critical care setting
Strong technical skills, including the ability to perform diagnostic tests and treatments as directed
Knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
