Supplier Maintenance Supervisor

Our client, a worldwide Agri-Food ingredient manufacturer, is currently hiring for a Supplier Maintenance Supervisor to join their Iowa-based team. This position would travel up to 50% of the year to all the facilities within the network.
As an integral part of the Maintenance Management Team, the Supplier Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting the goals and directives of the Maintenance Department at supplier facilities. The primary responsibility of the Supplier Maintenance Supervisor is to support supplier operations by supervising maintenance personnel, managing the flow and accuracy of maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and day-to-day maintenance department responsibilities and planning.
* Safety and Security - Observe safety and security procedures; Determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; Report potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.
* Food Safety and Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
* Works to improve the maintenance planning and scheduling process.
* Ensures all tools and parts are in stock to complete assigned jobs.
* Evaluate upcoming projects with the Plant Engineer to prepare part kits and other equipment to support timely and efficient project completion.
* Assigns work orders for maintenance members when a task needs to be done.
* Performs all aspects of material and supply procurement for the maintenance function including soliciting vendors, obtaining competitive bids, issuing requests for purchase orders, monitoring vendor delivery, and verifying receipt of materials.
* Technically directs maintenance personnel in all phases of installation, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment, systems, buildings, and grounds.
* Works with the Plant Manager and Plant Engineer to establish priorities for the scheduling of maintenance, non-capital, and capital projects, where the three intersect.
* Assist in the preparation of the preliminary supplier maintenance budget for the annual budget.
* Responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of an effective preventative maintenance program.
* Develops and maintains effective preventative maintenance procedures.
* Review production schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
* Establishes and adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet production needs.
* Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
* Maintains time and production records and utilizes these records to identify trends and take corrective actions when warranted.
* Works with other supervisors to coordinate activities across multi-functional departments.
* Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
* Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (4-year program) in a related field and 1-3 years of related experience; OR
* High School diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 5-7 years related experience or training.
