We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join our non-profit organization in Fresno, CA. As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to our leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee day-to-day financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and receivable, and maintain accurate financial records.
Collaborate with program managers to allocate resources effectively.
Board Reporting and Presentations:
Prepare comprehensive board packages, including financial statements, analysis, and relevant reports.
Present financial updates and performance metrics to the board during regular meetings.
Address any financial inquiries from board members.
Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
Work closely with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
Financial Strategy and Planning:
Assist in developing long-term financial strategies aligned with the organizations mission.
Provide financial insights to support decision-making and growth initiatives.
Evaluate financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Team Leadership:
Manage a team of finance professionals, including accountants and financial analysts.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management within the non-profit sector.
Strong knowledge of not-for-profit accounting practices and financial reporting.
Experience in preparing board packages and presenting financial information to board members.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, etc.).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Compensation:
Annual salary: $120,000
