The Opportunity
Due to our client’s fast-moving and fast-growing UK food retailer, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Category Buyer to utilise your buying expertise to implement the category strategy to maximise sales and improve margins.

The role
As a Category Buying Manager,  you will think quickly and act decisively to build strong relationships with suppliers, implement the category strategy to maximise sales and improve margins. The credibility to influence at a very senior level in retail is vital. You will need to be able to act as a role model for others in the team, by ensuring that the company keeps one step ahead of retail trends, competitor activities and consumer demands.
This role is a full-time and permanent position based in the Head Office in Deeside, with possibility for Hybrid work.

You will have the following qualifications & experience
A background in a complex, constantly changing food retail environment would be ideal.
A proven track record in delivering and maintaining a distinct point of difference across your category is essential.
Buyers with experience working in Food Retail would have the ideal knowledge required for this role.
You must have experience of reviewing suppliers, introducing new sources, and negotiating trading terms.
