A new and exciting opportunity to join a global leader who are specialists in creating innovative, safety critical equipment used in defence, aerospace and maritime sectors to make the world safer.

You will be at the forefront of driving the efficient transition of products from design to production. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong presence on the shop floor, where you will be leading activities between departments and ensuring seamless coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Establishment of functional productivity, capability, continuous improvement objectives to drive change and improve project lead times
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design for manufacture programmes to enable introduction of new products and processes in a controlled way
Provide input to design decisions from feasibility to ensure a robust delivery program
Establish production system capability and introduce best practice based on APQP
Lead Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) to assess maturity of capability and ensure products are ready for production
Conduct process capability studies, takt time analysis, and lead Kaizen events
Review of legacy designs for process and design optimisation
Provide leadership to industrialisation team, manage project plans and communicate industrialisation strategy to the business
Maintain in depth understanding of technology, regulations and best practice through ongoing education, conferences, specialist media etc.

Requirements:

Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
Background in manufacturing engineering/industrialisation/NPI, preferably in aerospace or similar regulated environment
6-10 years experience in a leadership role, planning, managing and organising resources within short-medium timescales
Hands on, shop floor approach to driving change and making improvements
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong leadership and influential skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
