Our client is a leading international organisation and they are currently looking for a

General Laboratory Engineer to join their team.

The role will provide onsite general laboratory equipment repair, maintenance and calibration support, and supporting administration operations.

The role will work as part of an onsite solution to manage the laboratory assets, undertaking regular preventative maintenance and calibration, supporting the Metrology onsite engineering team in accordance to client quality and health and safety processes. Working with a wide range of laboratory equipment including the supporting administrative tasks in the lab space to drive quality and efficiency for the client's scientific staff.

Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:

• The primary function of this role is to deliver general service engineering to both GxP and non-GxP laboratory assets in accordance to the agreed scope of works. Delivering services within agreed client Service level agreements and meeting Key Performance Indicators. Working on the client TMS database taking ownership of maintaining the data integrity of client system.

Key accountabilities:

• Ensure prompt, flexible, customer focused equipment support whilst maintaining compliance with statutory, regulatory and engineering standards. Keeping TMS database updated and accurate in a timely manner.

• Attend client meetings to review on-going performance, areas for continual improvement and governance

• Undertake Triage of assets in response to reported Work Orders, in accordance with SLA’s

• Undertake Self Perform preventative maintenance on assets for general lab equipment

• Escort onsite visiting vendors to appropriate work areas within laboratories and comply with client site induction processes

• Carry out regular asset sweeps (and potential for re-tagging of equipment)

• Create, manage and review supporting documentation e.g. service reports

• Monitor the performance of the scientific equipment and systems using Key Performance Indicators to instigate improvements and influence changes

• Administration of electronic and hard copy service records, uploading and updating of electronic management system in accordance with GXP procedures.

• Update TMS systems Status and Service reports in a timely manner

• Raising of Purchase Orders, financial reconciliation/invoice and payment queries

• Attend regular vendor and customer meetings and supplying work orders status data

• Raise and/or follow task based Risk Assessments/Method Statements (RAMS), COSHH, Manual Handling and Display Screen Equipment (DSE) ensuring that controls are fully met

• Clean up areas on completion of engineering work and maintain the cleanliness of lab equipment and workshops ensuring that the area is free from engineering debris and waste.

Person Specification:

• Experience and knowledge of working as an engineer within a similar setting, working with and knowledge of calibration of laboratory equipment

• Experience within the Laboratory/Pharmaceutical sector

• PC literate in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)

• Experience within the GXP/GMP Laboratory/Pharmaceutical/ equivalent sector

• Strong communication skills with client focus

• Knowledge of Purchase Order and Invoice creation, management and reporting

• Sound knowledge of database and document management
