Description
We're seeking a Strategic Account Manager to join our team based in the Netherlands. This role involves extensive travel within the Netherlands, targeting multinational/international accounts to gain global exposure. It presents an exhilarating opportunity to exert a substantial influence in the industry.
What You Will Be Doing:
Develop assigned international accounts
  • Own, manage and develop the relationship with your assigned accounts, ensuring sales targets are met, including share of wallet growth.
  • Build resilient, supportive and deep relationships across all levels of your client's organization. This includes managing existing clients and developing new ones.
  • Personally negotiate and close all key contracts and business opportunities.
  • Create a virtual team to support the development of increased sales, such as completing RFIs, 'win rooms' etc.
  • Review sales performance and account business with the Regional Director during bi-weekly 1:1 meetings. Conduct scheduled weekly face-to-face sales calls (discussing customer business issues, Steelcase insights or product and solution positioning).
Develop and implement strategic account and opportunity plans
  • Develop account strategy and opportunity/project plan, including aspirations, sales targets, key corporate products and other activities to increase share of wallet.
  • Accountable and measured against sales targets and results within the EMEA strategy.
  • Effectively manage and lead account team members on activities and client engagements.
  • Leverage input and resources from Steelcase specialists.
  • Effectively utilize Relay Teams to secure business with accounts and opportunities.
  • Engage the Strategic Support Team to support the execution of account and opportunity plans.
  • Conduct regular (quarterly) business reviews with your accounts.
  • Lead and own the planning and execution of strategy in collaboration with your account team (Steelcase specialists).
  • Leverage insights and execute plays to differentiate Steelcase and create opportunities within accounts.
  • Consistently leverage the use of CRM (SF) to manage performance and communicate with the team.
  • Manage funnel, enable Steelcase team, and relay collaboration on accounts and opportunities.

  • Act as a captain of an extended Steelcase team within the EMEA region, sharing best practices and account knowledge within the larger SAM team.
Who You Are:
  • Minimum of 3 years of strategic corporate account experience
  • Proven track record of winning new multi million € accounts.
  • Proven account management skills, including strategy development and stakeholder maps
  • Ability to build long-term working relationships with multiple functions within the client organization (Purchasing, Facilities Management, General Management etc.), specifiers (Architects and Designers - A&D), marketing and product experts and other relevant partners and distributors as part of a complex sales approach.
  • Proficient use of IT support tools such as CRM, Outlook calendars, tablets, smartphones and comfortable interaction via webinars, live video applications, virtual meeting tools, business applications.
  • Autonomy, adaptability, commitment, teamwork, and collaborative skills are highly valued.
  • Outstanding written and oral presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Degree and/or business qualification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English and Dutch.
