Accounts Payable Specialist

Join our client's dynamic accounting team as an Accounts Payable Specialist! We seek a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our finance department and handle all aspects of the accounts payable process. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. This role is located in Beverly, MA and is designated in-office.
Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
Obtain necessary approvals for payment and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, wires, and ACH transfers.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any billing issues.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records and documentation.
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
Assist with vendor and supplier relationship management.
Support internal and external audits related to accounts payable.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Proven experience working in accounts payable or a related role.
Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
