The Opportunity:
As a Systems Engineer – Server Capacity Planning, you will be responsible for managing the inventory of servers and network hardware, forecasting future needs, and optimizing their usage. You will oversee the entire hardware lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Additionally, you will monitor server utilization, availability, and efficiency, and recommend solutions to enhance operations and reduce costs.
The Work itself:
Manage the inventory of servers and related hardware, including managing, forecasting, and allocating the hardware
Analyze the server utilization and capacity, and recommend solutions for optimization and improvement
Create and maintain models and simulations to forecast server resource requirements and identify potential bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities
Develop and implement server capacity plans and strategies to optimize server utilization, availability, and efficiency
Coordinate the procurement, installation, improvement, and disposal of servers and related hardware
Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure the server infrastructure meets the business needs and objectives
Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in the server domain, and propose enhancements and upgrades
Develop, maintain, and present capacity plans for dedicated server infrastructure. Plans will serve quarterly purchase needs and inform annual budget planning

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
