Procurement Specialist

Contract to start on 27-05-23 until 26-08-23 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose:

Leading, directing and co-ordinating a programme of sourcing activity and ensuring effective contract and supplier relationship management to maximise value for money and deliver targeted savings across the assigned categories / sub-categories. Providing advice and guidance to support the framework members, category team members and Service Area staff with respect to procurement procedures and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Delivering targeted savings and improved value for money

• Developing category plans and sourcing strategies and drive associated change management initiatives

• Ensuring specifications and contracts are in place that deliver the clients strategic objectives and which support Service Area service delivery

• Ensuring contract and supplier management, commensurate with value and risk, are in place across the category group

• Developing procurement and category knowledge to effectively support the delivery of category management across the county Ensuring a high degree of skills transfer is built into the category management through knowledge sharing and skills development

• Supporting Service Areas in implementing key activities within the approved strategic sourcing solution

• Ensuring the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of tender and contract documentation within assigned categories
