Metalis is working in partnership with a specialist manufacturing company in Warrington who are looking to hire a Proposals Engineer on a permanent contract.

Job Duties:

Providing engineering technical advice for fabricated filtration systems
Liaising with Sales Team, Engineering Manager, production team and occasionally client contact points as necessary to understand their needs to agree scope of work
Role is predominately internal, but if required, visit customer to discuss needs
Understand customer problems and suggest solutions, leading to creating a proposal to provide these solutions.
Preparing a design, costing and accurate estimates to the Sales Team / Commercial and Technical Director for fabricated items.
Liaising with engineering manager to identify economical routes to manufacture and suggest cost optimizations, develop internal cost and lead time to execute the work.
Sourcing and obtaining raw material / sub-contractor quotes as appropriate and negotiating best possible price.
Assist sales team in preparation and creation of technical and commercial proposals including providing PDF, AutoCAD drawings for proposed items in a timely manner, product specifications and descriptions, and review of detailed quotations to customers as required.
To ensure branding on documents is smart, clear and consistent.
Provide support throughout the proposal and production stage until delivery and close out.
Liaise throughout the project with production and suppliers ensuring all proposals meet the design proposed, design standards, codes and regulations, and are in line with project/customer requirements.
Become familiar with main competitor products, with a view to suggesting and promoting USP's for product line
Advice on advantages/disadvantages of competing products and suggesting improvements or changes to products through acquiring market knowledge.Job Requirements:

Ideally apprentice trained, HNC, HND or Degree qualified in engineering - Mechanical engineering, manufacturing & production engineering or similar.
Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD.
To have a good knowledge of IT, including MS Office.
Good understanding of design and engineering manufacturing procedures and knowledge of pressure equipment directive and any other appropriate regulations (e.g. ATEX)
Ability to compile project documentation packs
To be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Build strong relationships with internal and external contacts.
To be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFI/RFPs.
To be adaptable and have a flexible attitude to be able to cope with a demanding workload
To have excellent organisational skills
Be able to work accurately and in a logical manner
Be able to communicate and liaise with colleagues at all levels, from a range of departments, such as Directors, management, members of the sales team, production and administration teams.Salary & Shift:

40 hour working week
Days only, Monday to Friday
