Locum Criminal & Enforcement Lawyer
Temporary ongoing contract
Hybrid Working - 2/3 days in the office (Chelmsford)
£40-£50 per hour
I am working with a local government body who are searching for a Criminal & Enforcement Lawyer to join their Specialist Crime and Enforcement law sector within Dispute Resolution and Employment Law.
This Council prides itself on providing an outstanding service for residence across Essex. They are searching for a qualified Solicitor / Lawyer or Chartered Legal Executive with excellent technical legal skill and proven experience.
Responsibilities:
You will provide guidance and advice to clients both in house and to external members. You will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of legal advice within the Criminal & Enforcement Section.
* Responsible for handling a full case load consisting of both contentious and non-contentious criminal and enforcement matters
* Complex fraud cases
* Confiscation proceedings
* Consumer complaint prosecutions
* Planning and Environmental Enforcement Prosecutions
* Highways Enforcement Notices and Prosecutions
* Providing timely and accurate legal advice across the Council
* Delivering outcomes against the business plan for legal services, which support the wider vision
* Understanding clients needs
* Building strong relationships across the Council, schools and other local authorities
Your Experience:
* 2 years post qualified experience desirable
* Experience running criminal cases from start to finish
* Experience advising at all stages of an investigation - Pre-charge, review of evidence, assessing suitable legislation and drafting charges
* Able to work in a fast paced environment
