Control Systems Design Engineer

£45,000 pa

Located in the Sandy, Cambourne, Huntingdon area

Established leader in processing equipment and solutions for the food processing / packaging manufacturing industry requires a Control Systems Design Engineer to work closely with the mechanical design, project, and software teams to bring innovative projects to life.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

Creating control panel layouts and detailed electrical schematics using Eplan Pro Panel.
Selecting and sourcing electrical components to meet project requirements.
Participating in PLC and HMI system selection.
Ensuring all designs adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations.
Providing technical support and guidance to internal and external teams.
Integrating control systems seamlessly within machine designs.
Identifying suitable replacements for obsolete electrical components.
Working effectively with both AC and DC power systems.

To be successful, you'll have:

Hands-on experience in electrical wiring.
Proven experience using electrical design software (Eplan Pro Panel preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
A Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), or a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or a related field).
A strong knack for problem-solving and a meticulous eye for detail.
The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while also working independently.

A plus if you have:

Experience with international control panel design standards (US, Australia).
Familiarity with popular PLC hardware and software (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Siemens).
An understanding of industrial networking systems.

The role is located in the St. Neots, Cambourne, or Huntingdon area (Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire).

Own transportation is required due to the company location.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum, plus yearly bonus and a standard 40 hours working week (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm).
