Job Title: Network Team Leader

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000

We are looking for an individual with 5+ years experience in Network Team Leader role to play a pivotal role in leading and developing a team of Network Engineers responsible for managing the day-to-day planning, implementation, development, maintenance, monitoring and support function of their core infrastructure and network equipment.

The candidate will report to the company's Managing Director to play a critical part in defining specifications, processes, and procedures, whilst driving initiatives to enhance overall network performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the network team in actively troubleshooting, maintaining, installing, and configuring network infrastructure for both fixed and wireless typologies.
Ensure optimum network performance through continuous monitoring and innovation.
Identify, and remedy performance bottlenecks. Evaluate and recommend new and emerging technologies and equipment as required including the development of business cases.
Manage, support, and mentor a dynamic team to ensure they achieve the highest level of performance.
Development and improvement of architectural principles, specifications, processes, and procedures within the department to gain overall efficiencies.
Produce and maintain documentation and as-built records as required.
Production of KPI reports and presentations as required.
Prepare scope of works, technical evaluations, and submit procurement requests for new network infrastructure projects.
Manage strategic relationships with key network product and service providers.
Work closely with the project team, and monitor progress, manage risk, and assess the quality of network projects to ensure requirements are met.
Procurement and management of leased lines.
Effective management of 3rd party suppliers, monitoring performance against SLAs, and escalating issues where performance is not met.
Occasional travel to existing networks and client sites in various locations throughout the UK.
On-call duty, and occasional out of hours work.
Build the capability of your team and coach them to develop new skills.
Confidently communicate areas of contention to the wider business and SLT.

Key Requirements:

5+ years of experience in an Internet Service Provider or large Enterprise environment designing and implementing complex network solutions.
Demonstrate excellent leadership, and communication skills and the ability to grow and develop a team in line with business requirements.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, VPLS, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IPV4, IPV6, Ethernet, Routing, Switching, Firewalls & VOIP.
Hands on experience with networking equipment such as Cisco, Nokia, Juniper, FortiGate, Dasan, MikroTik, Datacom and Halny.
Knowledge of wireless networks and product manufacturers such as Ruckus, MikroTik, Meraki, Ubiquiti, and Siklu.
Experience configuring and using common network monitoring systems, such as PRTG networking.
Ability to produce and understand network designs, high-level and low-level documentation.
Confident in taking full ownership of a project and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience working with Sales Teams on RFPs, RFQs etc.
Highly organised, with the ability to work under pressure.
Excellent troubleshooting and complex problem-solving skills.
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCIE, CCNP or equivalent.
