You will have responsibility for procurement of raw materials, equipment and services, including: -

Team Leadership: Leading, mentoring and developing a small purchasing team.
Supply Chain Management: Ensure a safe, sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain for all raw materials and equipment, maintaining supplier agreements for key suppliers.
Supplier Performance: Drive supplier performance, focusing on cost reduction, on-time delivery, quality performance, and contract adherence, maintaining all metrics within the operational dashboard.
Purchasing Strategy: Formulate and implement purchasing strategies to manage inventory effectively and ensure material availability, even during emergencies, under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
Negotiation and Relationships: Maintain and negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers, fostering strong relationships to ensure smooth procurement activities.
Cost Management: Develop and execute strategies aimed at reducing variable and overhead costs, tracking critical functional metrics to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.
Forecasting and Risk Management: Forecast price and market trends, assess and mitigate risks, and implement appropriate purchasing processes and controls to ensure reliable and timely material delivery.To apply for the Purchasing Manager position, you will need: -

Experience in a senior purchasing position within the manufacturing sector.
Experience with the procurement of metal, ideally including castings.In return, you'll receive

A salary between £50,000 and £55,000 depending on experience, a pension contribution of up to 7.5%, 25 holidays, plus the bank holidays.

Your working hours

The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 8 am-4.30 pm, and 8 am-1.30 pm on Fridays.
