Job Description
We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to join our growing data science team. The ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing and interpreting large-scale biological datasets, with a strong background in computational biology, statistics, and programming. As this position will work closely with all of our different scientific and business teams, we place a high value on communication and collaboration. The ability to work independently and efficiently is paramount.
Roles and Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret large-scale biological datasets using computational tools and statistical methods
Develop and implement algorithms for data analysis and visualization
Collaborate with other members of the biology, detection, and business teams to integrate bioinformatics analyses with other data sources
Communicate findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies in bioinformatics, molecular biology, agriculture, and other relevant fields
Requirements
Qualifications
MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or related field
3+ years of experience in bioinformatics analysis of large-scale datasets
Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
Experience with data visualization tools such as D3.js or ggplot2
Knowledge of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics data analysis techniques
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of plant biology, agriculture, or remote sensing a huge plus

Working at InnerPlant
The US base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
