Accountant

Venture Recruitment Partners are delighted to be supporting a well-known and established business based on the outskirts of Southampton, which is seeking to recruit a newly-created Accountant position.
 Key Responsibilities: 

Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC regulations.
Complete P11D forms for employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
Support Financial Accountant in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual finance statements. 
Support the finance function in the production of forecasts and annual budgets.
First stage review on finance documentation as required.
Support across the Commercial and Finance team on projects.
Post journals to the general ledger, maintaining accurate and detailed financial records.
Assist with month-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and accruals.
Generate financial reports as required, supporting management with financial analysis
Financial analysis to support decision-making within the company
Other Ad Hoc tasks as required 
Key Skills & Experience: 

Progresing towards full chartered accountant status (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
Experience of working in a finance team
Experience in the preparation of financial reports for both business month-end and year-end processes.
Have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft software packages, primarily excel formulas and pivot tables, and experience of recognised accounting software.
Confident to challenge and able to influence business behaviour and projects.
Be a team player and self-starter, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Have good verbal and written communication skills
