Unique School Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a Secondary School in the Barnsley area.
We are seeking to appoint a Technology Technician to work within the Technology department.
The role is a permanent position working directly with the school.
The school

Duties of the role include:
* Supporting teaching and learning in the technology department.
* To liaise regularly with the Head of Department.
* General preparation of materials within the technology department and assisting with the demonstration of lessons.
* Basic maintenance and setting up of workshop tools and machinery.
* Organise, monitor and maintain all technology tools, machines and equipment.
* Ordering of resources and stock.
* Use of heat treatment facilities such as brazing, welding and casting.
* Reporting of faculty machinery.
* Health and safety audits
* Maintaining classroom displays.
Requirements for the role:
* 5 GCSE's of equivalent, including English and Maths (essential).
* First Aid training or willingness to undertake appointed person certificate in First Aid (desirable).
* Experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Ability to prioritise own workload.
* Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential safeguarding issues.
