Job Description
Atherton and Partners Limited are MEP Contractors, carrying out Projects for our clients across the UK. We are recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join our existing projects team on a full time, permanent basis. Working within the Projects team provides exciting opportunities to use a wide range of skills each day, in new and challenging environments.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical cabling,Lighting, switchgear, Distribution boards, and fixtures in all types of structures.
2. Maintaining an excellent standard of work.
3. Coordinating with a general contractor and other building professionals on site.
4. Upholding Athertons & partners reputation for good workmanship.
5. Understanding and following 2D Cad Drawings or building plans.
6. Following current 18th regulations.
7. Keeping and maintaining records of time spent on a job and materials purchased for the work.
8. Ensuring receipts and goods received notes are catalogued and filed on the company finance systems that are accessible by mobile phone.
9. Making sure all projects are left clean and tidy.
10. Receiving and signing for goods on site and ensuring that they are stored in a safe and secure place.
11. Responsibility for apprentices onsite training and safety.
12. Responding to electrical emergencies, investigating and problem solving.
13. Performing regular maintenance of electrical systems to prevent emergencies.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential Requirements
1. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with senior management to deliver electrical fittings and electrical tasks for the organisation. (If 3rd year would report qualified tradesman/site supervisor on site rather than senior management)
2. ECS card
3. Pasma/IPAF would be an advantage
4. A strong proactive approach to project management.
5. A can do positive attitude.
6. Team players with effective communication skills.
7. A desire to learn and further their career long term.
8. Must have values of honestly and reliability.
9. Competent all-rounder with a range of skills.
10. Detail-oriented and analytical.
11. Commercial Electrical experience.
12. Clean driving license.
Highly Desirable Requirements
13. Basic Mechanical or HVAC experience of 2 years or more.
14. Previous experience operating in a similar role.
15. The ability to work on their own and use initiative in problem solving.
16. The ability to interact with clients professionally and with strong communication.
17. The ability to be flexible with working hours.
18. This is a site-based job, so the ideal candidate would be local to the area, however we work across the North-West so closeness to the office isn’t essential. Essential Health and Safety Responsibilities
19. Always follow company policies and procedures at all times.
20. Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
21. Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
22. Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager.
