We are currently recruiting a transport to join our team within the A E Yates plant department,
This position is available now or to suit notice periods required, we are losing our current transport manager to another division within the group (HSQE) he has always wanted to do this role and we look to accommodate where possible with transfers within the group.
Our civil engineering side of the group are extremely busy and have just been awarded some very large frameworks on top of our existing works and now gives us the happy headache of further expansion and growth within the Group.

Overview of the job role, and key responsibilities.
To manage our HGV vehicles moving our internal Group plant assets all over the UK,
We run 3 axle and 4 axle tractor units along with 4 / 5 /6 axle step frame trailers, artic Hiab and urban trailer , beaver tail wagon with drag and a Vac ex unit.
We can only cover so much with 2 low loaders and have to outsource many loads; we have other areas duties that will fall within the transport managers remit including taking control of our owned and external hired fleet of commercial vans and cars around 200 or so.
We are FORS silver accredited, and you will be responsible for the compliance related to maintain this standard
The Key responsibilities
To ensure the transport department operates in a safe, compliant and efficient manner, which is fully compliant with all legislation. Managing the Fleet and vehicle records in compliance with the O License Conditions. Co-ordinating drivers and assets to meet delivery schedules and delivering a first-class service to our group of companies and our external customers . This position will be responsible for the movement abnormal loads in UK so understanding of the STGO regulations will be useful.
Experience and qualifications.
· CPC Qualification holder
· Knowledge of HGV driver regulations including WTD.
· conversant in using MS Office packages, abnormal notification platforms
· Experience in transport management is essential.
· Excellent organisational skills.
· A positive and proactive attitude.
· Flexible and a can-do attitude.
· A proven track record of your ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues and external contractors.
