Our Turnaround Plan at Thames Water prioritises the areas that matter most to our customers and stakeholders. Central to this effort is the implementation of Agile Process Excellence (APEX), aimed at fostering continuous improvement and embedding a culture of excellence.
What you’ll be doing as an APEX Delivery Manager
As part of our Turnaround Plan, we are establishing Agile Process Excellence (APEX) to drive continuous improvement across Thames Water. We are seeking an APEX Delivery Manager to manage, plan, and coordinate our APEX training and capability development programme. This role is critical in building a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the APEX Training and Capability Development programme, including candidate support and certification processes.
Provide hands-on improvement expertise for turnaround initiative teams.
Conduct process intelligence and root cause analysis.
Perform initiative/team maturity assessments to identify APEX support needs.
Deliver accredited skills transfer and training in agile methodologies and change management.
Embed agile practices within improvement pods in turnaround initiatives.
Liaise with accreditation partners to maintain training standards.
Ensure quality control and curation of training materials and administration of applicable tests/exams.
Develop knowledge management and best practice sharing across APEX communities.
Promote the APEX methodology and successes within the organisation.Key Relationships:

Collaborate with APEX lead and specialists to manage training content.
Engage with accreditation partners to maintain Thames Water's APEX training standards.
Work with initiative leads to identify and enrol staff in APEX training.
Support Turnaround Town Halls and communications to promote continuous improvement.
Work with TMO Portfolio leads to address skill gaps in initiative teams.
Base Location: Reading /Hybrid.

Experience with improvement and change methodologies. (Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, PDCA, etc.).
Strong team-working abilities and experience in cross-functional environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and logical.
Strong engagement and influencing skills.
Proven project management track record.
Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changes and setbacks.
Ability to engage and influence business teams and stakeholders.

Competitive salary from £44,000 - £66,000 per annum dependent on experience.
Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
