Cloud Support Engineer

London, Manchester or Ruddington – hybrid working model, predominantly remote working

Excellent day rate

Fantastic opportunity to secure an initial 6 months day rate contract inside IR35 as a Cloud Support Engineer to be based from Manchester, London or Nottingham on a hybrid working model. The Cloud Support Engineer will have a focus on patch management for our Cloud based services and infrastructure. Support and troubleshooting of technical issues in alignment with ITIL practices. Deployment and configuration of cloud-based infrastructure and platforms as part of a delivery team. Producing domain specific processes, procedures, and support documentation. Some work outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekend work, will be required for the role.

What will you be doing?

•           Performing regular maintenance of DCC systems, including patch approval and deployment.

•           Troubleshooting issues with the patching process, including installation failures.

•           Managing upgrades to server operating systems.

•           Keeping up to date with security and feature releases to make recommendations and provide support to staff.

•           Producing clear and concise processes, procedures, and training material to support other members of the team.

•           Participate in support processes as part of the technical team.

•           Assist with projects and technical delivery to the cloud.

•           Liaising and managing customer expectations and setting realistic timeframes.

What are we looking for?

•                    Experience performing a similar Cloud Support Engineer role at a large, complex organisation.

•                    Extensive experience with a Devops approach to patch management as opposed to a Windows admin approach and detailed, technical troubleshooting (not going through a GUI based console)

•                    Experience completing Cloud based project work within a Devops practice.

•                    Essential technical experience with AWS, CLI, Linux command line, Terraform and Python, PowerShell or Bash to perform this role.

•                    Detailed experience with operating systems, Windows and Linux familiarity is essential.

•                    Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate technical information and convey to non-technical people.

•                    Experience troubleshooting server software configuration issues.

•                    Experience of working aligned to ITIL practices and principles.

•                    Experience of working with CI/CD pipelines.
