Procurement Manager

Clements Grey has engaged with a key client based in Peterborough a contract manufacturer across multiple sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Medical and FMCG. They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join their team as a Procurement Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of our supply base, ensuring the procurement of materials and consumables at the best total cost price while maintaining our competitiveness and performance in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop strategies to ensure the efficient and cost-effective supply of raw materials, consumables, and services, meeting business needs and achieving cost savings targets.

Conduct value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements to optimise procurement processes.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring that business requirements are understood, met, and regularly evaluated for performance.

Lead the procurement team across multiple locations, fostering a culture of efficiency and effectiveness to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Participate in new product introduction projects, providing procurement expertise to support company growth.

General Duties:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance, attendance, and timekeeping, reflecting the company's image when interacting with customers and suppliers.

Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the management team.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field.

Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a track record of achieving cost savings and improving supplier performance.

Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.

Leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in procurement.
