Our prestigious client manufactures electrical insulators, associated hardware and disconnectors for the Electricity transmission distribution and rail industries. Many of our products are used on today’s overhead infrastructure within the UK and overseas.
We have an opportunity for a CAD Technician to join the team here in the UK who will be responsible for the preparation and amendment of the 2D drawings that are used in the factory, manufacturing or supplied for the customer. Furthermore, our client is looking to develop 3D modelling of components and assemblies to help visualise their products in a better form. Additionally, we are also looking for the candidate to input into the design process and have an initiative for optimising designs or realising the potential of other solutions and technologies.
Whilst the role is predominantly office based there is opportunity for a varied role liaising and working with the factory, dealing with customers and also visiting suppliers from time to time. This description reflects the core activities of the role but is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties within the group/department may be required in addition to changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time. There is a requirement for the post holder to recognise this and adopt a flexible approach to work
