Join a thriving and dynamic Infrastructure Services team in Washington! As a rapidly growing business, the team is excited to welcome a new Project Manager to contribute to their success. This is a long-term career opportunity with a Main Contractor, where one can develop skills and be part of an industry-leading organisation.

Based in the Washington office in the North East of England, the individual will ensure the effective management of either one high-value or several small-value water projects, ensuring programme requirements are met while aligning with both company and divisional objectives, and achieving client and customer aspirations and expectations. The role involves managing projects to achieve targets in safety, time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for successful project management, attending pre-start meetings, devising a strategic programme of works, and continually monitoring progress.
Prepare and manage the project, producing the overall Project Delivery Plan and associated detailed short-term programmes, making necessary amendments to maintain the overall plan.
Oversee the project, including design, safety, quality management, resource planning, programme management, and commercial management.
Manage obligations and rights under the terms of the contract.
Act as a visible leader in HSQ&E, promoting high standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
Ensure all HSQ&E activities and reporting are accurate, legally compliant, and within group policies.
Ensure projects are adequately staffed and led effectively, maintaining a high level of commitment and morale.
Support the Contracts Manager in managing opportunities and risks impacting the business plan.
Ensure the induction process is followed for all employees on site.
Work closely with the Commercial team to align and manage commercial and operational matters.
Ensure any work outside the contract scope is notified and approved by the client, understanding the financial implications.
Prepare accurate CVRs with the Quantity Surveyor, achieve project target profitability, and identify project risks and opportunities.
Support the Bid Team in work-winning activities when necessary.
Assess, select, and appoint subcontractors based on financial and quality performance, ensuring high and safe standards.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and stakeholders through effective communication.
Ensure the delivery of client strategies, achieving KPIs, and implementing initiatives for continual improvement.
Lead People responsibilities for the team, including Performance & Development Reviews, coaching, and managing employee-related matters.
Ensure robust contract and delivery programmes are produced, including design and procurement, with full team ownership.
Provide accurate reports on project progress and highlight potential risks to relevant parties.
Maintain strong working relationships within the Operations and Commercial teams, ensuring good financial and programme controls.
Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
Ensure robust processes to minimise defects during and after construction, addressing defects promptly.
Perform any other duties reasonably assigned.Qualifications:

Extensive experience in managing the technical delivery of large-scale water projects.
Experience working on multiple contracts.
Proven track record of successful project delivery from start to finish.
Commercial and programming awareness.
Site management safety certificate (SMSTS / IOSH Managing Safely).
Technical Advisor for WIRS (Water Industry Registration Scheme).
Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience managing high-value projects or portfolios.
