Kenton Black are delighted to be working with a top 100 firm of accountants and business advisors in Manchester currently looking to recruit a an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior with a minimum of 18 months experience and circa 3-5 professional exams remaining.

As Audit & Accounts Semi Senior you will be joining a fast-growing dynamic accountancy and business advisory firm with multiple offices across the North West. You should be ACA or ACCA part qualified with circa 3-5 professional qualifications remaining and experience of external audit services and accounts preparation within a similar environment.

The roles involve strong teamwork as well as direct interaction with clients, so self-confidence and good interpersonal skills are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Audit & Accounts Semi Senior you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of client-based assignments, ensuring your work is of the highest quality. If you already have experience managing an audit team, this role will build on your experience of leading and coaching team members as well as managing relationships with clients.

-You will be working with a variety of clients to allow you to become a specialist in your chosen specialism.
-Preparation of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
-Liaising with clients to resolve queries
-Ensuring all assignments are completed within the allocated budget
-Working with the client to ensure deadlines are met

PERSON SPECIFICATION

-ACCA/ACA Part-qualified
-Recent audit and accounts experience in an Accountancy Practice Firm
-Basic knowledge of accounting packages and statutory accounts preparation software
-Basic knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS 102

You will be joining a well-established, independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in central Manchester. The vacancies within their Audit Team have come about due to internal promotion and the significant growth of the firm’s overall business, specifically within the audit team.

The firm has clear and aspirational plans for further growth. The client base is primarily Owner Managed Businesses (“OMBs”), however more recently, the firm has been successful in adding a number of Public Interest Entities (“PIEs”) to their client base. Typical client size ranges from start-up businesses to those with revenues in excess of £500m.

The role will be based in their office in central Manchester with the majority of time being spent at clients’ premises. The client base is predominantly based in the North West, with a number of clients further afield.

As noted above, their audit client base is largely OMBs, not for profit organisations, PIEs, PLCs and UK subsidiaries of foreign groups, generally reporting under FRS 102.
