We are currently recruiting a Setting out Engineer for a long duration contract in the London Borough of Enfield and potentially other works in London.
About the job: What the job involves, its roles and duties.
The setting out engineer will be responsible for setting out the works in accordance with the design and he/she will have responsibility for the following site duties.
* Report to the Site Manager / Project Manager on all aspects related to setting out and record keeping.
* Responsibility for setting out, levelling and surveying the site. Mapping and surveying and responsibility for the digital computation, recording and reporting of data / statistics.
* Supervision of materials and ensuring relevant documentation is compliant.
* Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed.
* Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections with sub-contractors.
* Resolving technical / engineering problems.
* Examine design information, to ensure plans and drawings are accurate and achievable.
* Assist in the production of as built records.
* Responsibility for producing ITP's and ensure they are signed off by relevant parties.
* Ensure that the QA File is produced and maintained.
Requirements: Any experience and/or education requirements.
* Minimum 2 years construction experience with a proven record of the discipline of a setting out engineer.
* Knowledge of instruments such as total station
* Good working knowledge of CDM regulations.
* Problem solving and analytical thinking.
* Good organisational skills
* CSCS card
