We are currently looking for a Electrochemist to join a leading Diagnostics company based in the Bedfordshire area. As the Electrochemist you will be responsible for executing electrochemistry and sensor research and development activities.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Electrochemist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. As the Electrochemist you have a comprehensive understanding of theoretical and practical electrochemistry and be able to apply this to making and testing of electrochemical sensors incorporating molecularly imprinted polymers. They should be inventive and creative in their approach to solving problems.

2. You will work on different projects, solving technical problems and lead day-to-day laboratory activities which include R&D, method development, quality control, and method development.

3. You will apply your experience in impedimetric and voltametric sensors, microfluids, biosensors, surface functionalisation, diagnostic or surface plasmon resonance and contribute new ideas and solutions to improve processes.

4. To support the company progressing in their late stages, you will interact regularly with internal teams, and external customers to deliver interdisciplinary research projects and customer orders.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Electrochemist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Electrochemistry, or a related subject (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering). Industry experience is desirable, but not essential.

2. A working knowledge and practical experience with Electrochemistry which can be applied to the preparation and testing of electrochemical sensors.
