The Company

My client is a well-established and well-respected Main Contractor and have been for over 100 years. Operating from their Bristol Regional office they deliver design and build, new build and refurbishment projects up to £25m in value across most sectors including but not limited to; Education, Arts and Culture, NHS, Sports & Leisure, Commercial and MOD works. Contracts are split evenly between traditional and design & build, with a high proportion of their work (up to 60%) being won on a negotiated basis. They take pride in providing a quality product to their clients and also take pride on their high level of staff retention.

They consider themselves to have the professionalism of a PLC but the flexibility of a regional contractor. Taking a non-adversarial approach to their work has resulted in a very strong order book with a good proportion of repeat business from their clients.

Due to their continued success and organic expansion plans they are looking to recruit a Project Manager to join their Bristol team.

The Role

As a Project Manager you will generally be based out on site, the first project being a £12m fast track new build project in Bristol. You will manage construction projects from start to right through to customer handover – the customer comes first! You will have a good understanding of the processes to deliver projects with an eye on timely delivery, budget control, health and safety and customer satisfaction. You must be able to get the best from the site team and be able to deal with problems in your stride.

Projects will come from a variety of different sectors, with values up to £25m. Projects may be traditional, D+B, 2 stage or framework projects and either new-build or refurbishment. Geographically projects will generally be within 40-50 miles of Bristol.

Candidate

You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in project managing similar types and sizes of projects for a main contractor. You will ideally already have valid First Aid, SMSTS and CSCS card. Applications are welcome from individuals with either a trades or academic background.
