Job description
Overview:
We are seeking a Load Planner to join our clients busy team in Derby. As a Load Planner, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimising the transportation of goods to ensure efficient delivery.
The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, focusing on the delivery of products in a timely manner to destinations throughout he UK. You will be the first point of contact for collection and delivery drivers, and onsite sub-contractors.
Responsibilities
* Be the first point of contact for our transport providers
* Administer and update collections/delivery sheets and relevant documentation
* Update the company database with order information and courier services
* Ensure the orders fit into the size of the vehicle or schedule a 2nd courier to ensure the timely arrival of the products
* Schedule the route via RAC route planner to ensure the deliveries are made in an organised route
* Produce labels for the pallets to enable correct delivery
* Calculate the costs of the delivery and update the system accordingly
* Have a flexible and adaptable approach to assist other departments when required with administrative duties
* Full training will be provided along with supervision within a small experienced team
Essential Skills
* An experienced administrator, ideally gained within a transport or production office
* Highly organised and able to process data accurately and efficiently
* Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Email
* Good communication skills
* Driven, proactive and resilient
* Able to develop own knowledge and skills within a well-motivated team
* A passion for delivering customer service excellence in a cost-effective way
