Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (40 hours/week, some flexibility negotiable) Holidays: 33 days paid holiday per annum (including Bank Holidays and Christmas shutdown)

Our client is a leading supplier to the UK’s professional grounds maintenance industry. They are committed to providing excellent service and high-quality products to their customers, which include hundreds of local authorities, national contractors, numerous grounds departments of sports, tourism and educational institutions along with landscaping companies. As a family-run business, they value trust, loyalty, and a collaborative working environment. The business is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounts Team Leader to join their small but dynamic finance team. While they collaborate with an accountancy firm for monthly and year-end management accounts and taxation, they require a skilled individual to manage and oversee all other aspects of the finance department. This role involves leading and coordinating a close-knit team to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* General accounts payable/receivable duties

* Entering supplier invoices into the ERP system

* Matching and checking suppliers' invoices

* Credit control activities

* Managing credit insurance

* Preparing and processing payroll

* Handling VAT returns and submissions

* Reconciling bank statements and financial transactions

* Producing financial reports and statements

* Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring

* Maintaining fixed asset registers

* Overseeing expense management and approvals

* Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards

* Managing the team

Requirements

* A comprehensive understanding of accounts and bookkeeping experience

* Absolute trustworthiness and loyalty

* Proficiency in IT and systems
